ananea Madivaru Maldives in North Ari Atoll is introducing an Island Concierge programme from 1 November 2026, giving each guest a personal contact on the island, the resort said. General Manager Pierre Edlund said the resort did not want to create “another traditional butler or host concept”.

According to the resort, the Island Concierge welcomes guests on arrival, meets them over breakfast, helps with plans and experiences during the day and returns for a personal farewell at departure. The resort said each concierge gets to know a guest's journey, remembers their preferences and anticipates their needs.

On the island, not behind a desk

Island Concierges spend their time where guests are, around the beaches, pools, restaurants, bars and pathways, rather than behind a desk, the resort said. Whenever possible, they may drive guests by buggy to dinner, spa appointments or activities themselves.

They can help with restaurant recommendations, spa treatments, watersports, excursions and celebrations, according to the resort. They will also share the story of the island, including its people, Maldivian culture and marine life, and how the resort produces fresh water and electricity and cares for its beaches and surroundings.

“We want something more natural and more human. Your Island Concierge is someone who gets to know you, remembers what you enjoy and helps make things happen without unnecessary formality,” Edlund said. “But ultimately, every colleague on our islands is part of the experience. The Island Concierge may be your personal connection, but the whole island is looking after you.”

Every guest belongs to everyone

The resort said the approach goes beyond the Island Concierge team. Whether a guest meets a chef, engineer, bartender, housekeeper, watersports colleague or leader, “every guest belongs to everyone”, it said.

ananea Madivaru opened in July 2025 as a twin-island resort in North Ari Atoll, according to the resort. It has 111 villas, nine dining venues, a private lagoon, a spa and a kids' club.
