Jean-Luc Naret, the hospitality executive who previously led One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives, has joined Aman for the brand's first Maldives project, Amanolu. He announced the move on LinkedIn on 3 November 2026, saying he was joining Aman officially that day.
What Aman says about Amanolu
Aman's website describes Amanolu as a resort in Vaavu Atoll, at the easternmost edge of the Maldivian archipelago. It pairs a 52-key resort with 16 private-island Aman Residences.
Each residence has five bedrooms and sits on its own island, in a Single Beach or Double Beach layout.
Each residence includes a 25-metre swimming pool and a private berth for arrival by sea.
A wellness island holds the Aman Spa and signature Spa Houses.
An activity island brings together the Beach Club, Racquet Club, Water Sports Pavilion and Dive Centre.
Dining and social venues include Arva, Nura Beach Club and Akari.
Getting there and opening
Aman lists the journey from Malé as about 25 minutes by seaplane or 90 minutes by speedboat. Its website says Amanolu is scheduled to open in 2028. In his LinkedIn post, Naret referred to an opening in late 2027, so travellers should check Aman's official channels for the confirmed date.
