Maldives Expo 2026 will host 780 exhibitors, up from 240 last year, Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade Mohamed Saeed said at a press conference at the President's Office on Tuesday.

The minister said the number of products on display will double from 2,400 to about 4,800. He said he expects this year's event to be the largest exhibition ever held in the Maldives.

The expo is organised by the Business Center Corporation and the ministry. According to the organisers, it will run from 25 October to 2 November at Central Park in Hulhumalé.

The event will grow from five districts to seven. A new Visitor Economy District will feature 10 islands, and a new International District will include 15 businesses from China and 15 participants from India, the minister said.

Organisers are also working to bring in businesses from the United Arab Emirates, but the minister did not say that any had confirmed.

Saeed said last year's 10-day expo drew more than 80,000 visitors a day, and that he hopes visitor numbers will double this year. No visitor figures for this year have been published yet.
