The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has announced the sale of 48 plots of state-owned land in Malé under the Veshifahi Malé Programme. The sale opens to eligible buyers on Sunday 8 November 2026, and applications close at 14:00 on Tuesday 8 December 2026.

The ministry published the notice (No. (IUL)491/491/2026/178) on 5 November 2026.

Who can apply

The offer is open to co-owners of the plots that contain the listed land, and to owners of the plots next to it. The sale follows the rules on selling state land under the Veshifahi Malé Programme, which were gazetted on 28 June 2021.

Price

The price is MVR 2,000 per square foot, the same for every listed plot. A 100 sq ft plot would therefore cost MVR 200,000.

The plots

The ministry listed the plots by area. Sizes range from 21.6 sq ft to 275.21 sq ft.

  • Maafannu: 21 plots

  • Machchangolhi: 10 plots

  • Galolhu: 7 plots

  • Henveiru: 9 plots

  • Villingili: 1 plot

The full list, with plot numbers, addresses and sizes, is in the notice. Several addresses are listed in more than one part, each with its own size, so buyers should check the part they want before applying.

How to apply

  • Fill in the form set out in the sales rules.

  • Attach all the documents the rules require.

  • Submit the application to the ministry before 14:00 on Tuesday 8 December 2026.

  • From 8 November, the form and the chart of the plots for sale can be downloaded from infrastructure.gov.mv or collected at the ministry's reception.
