Sun Siyam Resorts said 490 of its staff and guests took part in the Cancer Society of Maldives' Pink Ribbon Run/Walk 2026, a cancer awareness event held at five of its resorts and its head office in Malé.
The resort group said it contributed MVR 122,060 to the Cancer Society of Maldives through the purchase of campaign T-shirts.
Which Sun Siyam resorts took part?
According to Sun Siyam, participants joined from Siyam World Maldives, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef and Sun Siyam Olhuveli, along with staff at the group's head office in Malé.
This year's run/walk was held under the theme "I Can, You Can, We Can Help Prevent Cancer". Sun Siyam said the campaign aimed to raise awareness of cancer prevention and early detection.
The company said the event was also used to encourage conversations about personal wellbeing and healthier lifestyles among employees and guests.
What is Sun Siyam Cares?
Sun Siyam said its participation formed part of Sun Siyam Cares, the group's sustainability and social responsibility programme. It said the programme supports work in healthcare, community development, environmental responsibility and staff wellbeing.
The group thanked the Cancer Society of Maldives for leading the initiative and the staff and guests who took part.
Sun Siyam has also marked World Cancer Day in previous years, according to the company's website.
